UK On Course to Meet Packaging Recycling Targets
Despite China's crackdown on imports, figures for the 2nd quarter of the year for packaging recycling in the UK show that it is well on its way to meet its targets.
Provisional statistics published by the National Packaging Waste Database show that targets for all materials are on track to be met by the end of the year.
Analysis by Ecosurety, a compliance scheme, shows the amount of steel and aluminium recycled have already met nearly two thirds of the required targets, whilst paper has hit 73% and wood 94%.
Plastic and glass are lagging behind on 54% and 52% respectively.
